This series is the result of an unexplainable captivation for religious artefacts, for what faith creates and builds and, more generally, for the phenomenon of faith itself.
These artefacts are big (temples, statues, monuments) or small (statuettes, candles, incense sticks...). They are the places where faith happens and the tools it needs to get in touch with the sacred, the divine.
Through photographing these objects, places, worshipers, monks, I’m questioning the faith and trying to fathom how it can appear, how much relief it can bring to believers, what makes this phenomenon so special and why it intrigues me so much.
