Under the Leaves explores man constructed vegetal landscapes and the way vegetation can appear to have a will of its own. Planted for ornamental purposes, the plants here exceed this initial role and invade the frame. The darkness they create becomes a symbol of an unsuspected and slow form of consciousness.
By describing a world where man has disappeared and where vegetation is triumphant, the series also questions our own efficiency and durability as a species in the face of the persistence of these primal and eternal life forms.
